Yas Mall announces competition for aspiring fashion designers

Yas Mall has just announced it will be inaugurating a competition, titled Design Your Way to the Runway, for aspiring regional fashion designers.

To enter, designers must submit six sketches or renderings for a clothing line, inspired by a “modern arabesque” theme. After a preliminary judging panel views the entries, a committee will contact shortlisted finalists, who will then need to produce the 6-10 outfits in their collections.

The winning designer will showcase his or her collection during Yas Mall Fashion Week, which takes place October 12-15, with the opportunity to stock at one of the mall’s concept stores. The winner will also have exposure in local fashion and lifestyle magazines.
