While world leaders and diplomats discussed big issues like Syria, Libya, and migration at the UN General Assembly in New York, youth gathered at the UAE’s UN mission to discuss extremism and how to counter the messages of terrorist groups.

The meeting was led by Minister of State for Youth Affairs Shamma Al Mazrui. In attendance was Minister of State Sultan Al Jaber and a number of young leaders from the UAE and around the world.

The event was co-organised by Abu Dhabi-based counter-extremism think tank Hedayah.

“I’m very excited to think of solutions with Hedayah on projects we can launch in the UAE,” said Al Mazrui.
