Donald Trump's handwritten notes on Russia caught on camera

US president Donald Trump held a brief press conference to address the furore that followed his cosy meeting with his Russian counterpart Valdimir Putin - unaware his own heavily-inked contributions to an official statement were clear for all to see.

The Republican used the excuse of a "double negative" to explain his earlier refusal to condemn Mr Putin's administration for interfering in the 2016 US elections.

But while he was talking to reporters on Tuesday, Mr Trump left his written remarks exposed, garnering worldwide attention in the process.

Some of the notes read: 'my Administration has taken a firm stance on Russia, and strong action to secure our election systems.'

Another said: 'Furthermore, as has been very clear for a longtime, there was NO COLLUSION.'
