SANAA // Yemen's interior ministry said yesterday it had beefed up its security measures around the embassy of Saudi Arabia in Sanaa as well as around its consulate and the residence of the consul in Aden.
The ministry said in a statement on its website that it had given orders to the security forces to "remain on high alert to prevent any security breach".
The ministry added that the increased security comes Al Qaeda in Yemen claimed the kidnapping of the Saudi deputy consul, Abdullah Al Khalidi, in Aden on March 28.
