Saudi-led coalition down two Houthi drones targeting Jizan and Asir

The drone aimed at Asir was heading for residential areas, the coalition said

The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen has said it intercepted and downed two drones late on Saturday launched by Houthi rebels and targeting southern Saudi Arabia.

Coalition spokesman Colonel Turki Al Maliki said the drones were heading for the Asir region and Jizan, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The drone targeting Asir was aimed at residential areas, the coalition said.

The Houthis Al Masirah TV claimed the attack on Jizan was attacking military positions and aircraft hangars at a local airport.

Last Sunday a Houthi drone hit Saudi Arabia’s Abha airport, killing one person and injuring seven.
