Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman toured on Saturday a Houston neighbourhood that was devastated by Hurricane Harvey.

The area Crown Prince Mohammed visited is made up of Habitat for Humanity homes that were flooded last year. The crown prince is wrapping up a tour of the US after arriving last month.

Volunteers from the US-based subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, the state-owned oil company of the kingdom, had helped residents in that neighbourhood clean up after the storm damage.

Also on Saturday, Crown Prince Mohammed met with George H W Bush and his son, George W Bush; the 41st and 43rd US presidents, respectively.

George H W Bush said on Twitter that he was delighted to welcome Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Prince Khalid bin Salman, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the US, to Texas.

"A wonderful chance to celebrate the long-standing friendship between our nations," he said.

The 32-year-old heir to the throne is on an ambitious mission to modernise Saudi Arabia and improve its image in the West. He's also made stops in Washington, New York, Boston and on the West Coast.
