Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi have discussed their countries' strong relationship in a meeting in the UAE on Thursday evening.
An official reception ceremony was held upon Prince Mohammed's arrival at the Presidential Airport, Wam reported, which is the first in a tour of Arab neighbours. The Saudi national anthem was played and the prince was given a 21-artillery gun salute.
Sheikh Mohamed tweeted "we're proud of our deep-rooted ties" with Saudi Arabia as he welcomed Prince Mohammed to the country.
Sheikhs, ministers and senior officials welcomed him to the UAE, Wam said.
Prince Mohammed was accompanied from Saudi Arabia by a delegation of princes, ministers and other top officials.
In conversation during the welcoming ceremony at the Presidential airport, the two leaders re-affirmed their strategic cooperation is based on a robust foundation of mutual trust and understanding and common interest.
They exchanged views on a series of issues, including the threats and challenges faced by the Middle East and their impact on the stability and security of the region's peoples.
"UAE-Saudi relations are an exceptional role model for brotherly ties that go down to the annals of history," said Sheikh Mohamed.
"They are firmly based on mutual respect and joint determination to achieve the ambitions of their two peoples for sustainable development, social welfare and economic wellbeing."
He also complimented the Kingdom for taking on a "pivotal role" in security and development efforts in the region.
At the end of the talks both leaders emphasised that the robust partnership between the two countries is a strong pillar for joint Arab security.

The UAE visit is part of a trip to neighbouring countries, the Saudi Press Agency said.
“At the direction of King Salman, [the] Crown Prince Mohammed leaves today to visit a number of brotherly Arab countries," a brief statement on SPA's Arabic Twitter account read.
There was no further information about his itinerary of travel or the purpose of his trip.
At the end of the month, the Saudi Crown Prince is scheduled to attend the G20 Summit in Argentina.
These trips will be seen as crucial towards strengthening Riyadh’s relationships with key allies amid a difficult political period.

Stuck in a job without a pay rise? Here's what to do
Chris Greaves, the managing director of Hays Gulf Region, says those without a pay rise for an extended period must start asking questions – both of themselves and their employer.
“First, are they happy with that or do they want more?” he says. “Job-seeking is a time-consuming, frustrating and long-winded affair so are they prepared to put themselves through that rigmarole? Before they consider that, they must ask their employer what is happening.”
Most employees bring up pay rise queries at their annual performance appraisal and find out what the company has in store for them from a career perspective.
Those with no formal appraisal system, Mr Greaves says, should ask HR or their line manager for an assessment.
“You want to find out how they value your contribution and where your job could go,” he says. “You’ve got to be brave enough to ask some questions and if you don’t like the answers then you have to develop a strategy or change jobs if you are prepared to go through the job-seeking process.”
For those that do reach the salary negotiation with their current employer, Mr Greaves says there is no point in asking for less than 5 per cent.
“However, this can only really have any chance of success if you can identify where you add value to the business (preferably you can put a monetary value on it), or you can point to a sustained contribution above the call of duty or to other achievements you think your employer will value.”

Common OCD symptoms and how they manifest
Checking: the obsession or thoughts focus on some harm coming from things not being as they should, which usually centre around the theme of safety. For example, the obsession is “the building will burn down”, therefore the compulsion is checking that the oven is switched off.
Contamination: the obsession is focused on the presence of germs, dirt or harmful bacteria and how this will impact the person and/or their loved ones. For example, the obsession is “the floor is dirty; me and my family will get sick and die”, the compulsion is repetitive cleaning.
Orderliness: the obsession is a fear of sitting with uncomfortable feelings, or to prevent harm coming to oneself or others. Objectively there appears to be no logical link between the obsession and compulsion. For example,” I won’t feel right if the jars aren’t lined up” or “harm will come to my family if I don’t line up all the jars”, so the compulsion is therefore lining up the jars.
Intrusive thoughts: the intrusive thought is usually highly distressing and repetitive. Common examples may include thoughts of perpetrating violence towards others, harming others, or questions over one’s character or deeds, usually in conflict with the person’s true values. An example would be: “I think I might hurt my family”, which in turn leads to the compulsion of avoiding social gatherings.
Hoarding: the intrusive thought is the overvaluing of objects or possessions, while the compulsion is stashing or hoarding these items and refusing to let them go. For example, “this newspaper may come in useful one day”, therefore, the compulsion is hoarding newspapers instead of discarding them the next day.
