Twenty-six migrants have been discovered alive, some in refrigerated containers, aboard a cargo ship near a Dutch port.
The migrants, who were found on Tuesday evening near the Vulcaanhaven port in the southern city of Vlaardingen, were reportedly on route to the UK.
Crew members were said to have discovered the migrants on board the ship when it was a few kilometres out to sea.
The ferry Britannia Seaways, operated by Danish company DFDS, arrived at the port about 7.30pm local time after it returned from its journey to the UK.
Up to 20 ambulances attended the scene, along with police officers, Dutch media reported. It is not yet known how long the people had been in the container.
The migrants were arrested and were being examined by doctors. Their nationalities are not known.
Last month, 39 bodies were found in the back of a refrigerated lorry near London. All were believed to be Vietnamese migrants.
Two people have been charged in Britain and eight in Vietnam over the deaths.
Later in October in Greece, police found 41 migrants hiding in a refrigerated lorry during a routine check at a motorway in the north of the country.
The migrants were mostly Afghans and the refrigeration in the lorry had not been turned on.

Who was Alfred Nobel?
