Four boats carrying 52 migrants were intercepted off the south-east coast of Britain over the weekend.
On Sunday at 4am, a boat carrying six men, two women and five children was intercepted near Dover in Kent. Five hours later, another boat with 19 people on board was stopped.
Border Forces were also sent to two incidents on Saturday off the Kent coast, the British Home Office said.
On Saturday at 5.50am, a small, rigid inflatable boat was found carrying 11 men.
Two hours later, a boat carrying six men, two women and a 12-year-old was also stopped by Border Force.
All 52 of the people claimed to be Iraqi or Iranian, and were handed over to immigration officials.
On May 12, as many as 25 migrants, including eight children, were rescued off the coast of Dover.
Last year home secretary Sajid Javid said that the rising number of migrants trying to cross the English Channel was a “major incident”.
