Pope’s Francis’s visit to the UAE was the first time a Catholic pontiff stepped foot in the Arabian Peninsula. His historic visit changed the lives of many of the country's faithful as the region returns to a more open policy towards religious freedom. During his mass, the Pope prayed for the 150,000 in attendance at Zayed Sports City stadium and for everyone in the region. His packed agenda during the 40-hour visit included interfaith meetings, visits to religious monuments and meeting hundreds of the country’s faithful. But perhaps just as important, was his ability to touch the lives of the millions in the Arab World. On this episode of Beyond the Headlines, host Naser Al Wasmi, talks to those who attended the Papal mass and discusses how the Pope’s visit impacts the region.
