DUBAI // A woman who tried to blackmail her boyfriend by taking naked photographs of them together has been jailed for six months, along with her partner, for having an affair.
The Dubai Criminal Court heard that on March 25 this year, police received a call from 26-year-old Pakistani A A reporting she had been robbed at knifepoint in her home.
When officers arrived at her apartment in International City’s Italian cluster A A told them that her boyfriend A K, 22, also Pakistani, along with three other men, had barged into her flat when she opened the door for a supermarket delivery man.
“I had ordered an Etisalat recharge card and when I opened the door the men pushed into the flat,” said A A.
She added they pointed a knife at her and ordered her to take off a gold necklace and bracelet worth Dh5,500. They then went through her belongings and stole Dh2,500 from one of the drawers in her bedroom as well as two mobile phones.
After they left A A called police. A K was arrested in May while the other men, who were not identified, remain at large.
During investigations, A K told police he had been in a relationship with A A and she had taken naked pictures of them. She later tried to blackmail him with the images and demanded Dh10,000 or else she would post them online.
A K said A A would have sex with him for Dh100 a time.
“On the day of the incident I went to her flat and rang the bell, she opened up and I went in and we spoke briefly after which I took the two mobile phones that had the photos on them and left,” A K said in records.
A A denied being in a relationship with A K and also denied working as a prostitute.
A K was acquitted of theft but both he and A A were convicted of having consensual sex and sentenced to six months in jail each to be followed by deportation.
