Smoke was sent billowing across Dubai's Palm Jumeirah, after a fire broke out near One Palm by Omniyat this morning.
Social media users have shared images of the thick, black smoke wafting over the hotel, which is still under construction.
A Dubai Civil Defence spokeswoman said the fire broke out at 10.50am in a building under construction - but did not specify what building.
She said there was thick smoke in the 24-storey building, where the fire had started in the basement.
Four people were rescued, who had been trapped in the building.
The fire has since been brought under control.
It is unclear what caused it the blaze.
