DUBAI / A waiter who molested a four-year-old girl at a restaurant in front of her parents has been sentenced to six months in prison.
S R, 22, from India, sat beside the family at the restaurant in Bur Dubai where he worked and asked the girl to sit on his knee so he could play with her.
But when she did so he groped her underneath the table.
The mother reported the incident to Al Rafaa police station on August 12 this year after the girl told her what happened.
At the Criminal Court the waiter denied a charge of sexual assault, saying: “I couldn’t have done what I’m accused of while her parents were present.”
He will be deported after completing his prison term.
