Umm Al Quwain Municipality carried out an awareness campaign at the emirate’s central fish market, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Water.
The municipality distributed information brochures to fishermen and sellers, explaining the importance of preserving species such as emperor and rabbitfish.
It also focused on the impact of fishing and selling fingerlings during breeding season. It urged fishermen and sellers to comply with laws and regulations. The campaign is in line with municipality efforts to preserve fish populations.
