DUBAI // Motorists faced high winds and dusty conditions on their Thursday commute.

Winds of up to 55kph caused dust to rise in to the air, blew debris across roads and reduced visibility in parts of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Some motorists reported cars being buffeted by the strong northwesterly winds.

For seagoers, conditions in the Arabian Gulf will be rough and moderate to rough in the Oman Sea, the weather bureau said.

However, the wind is expected to die down over internal areas from Thursday night leading into Friday morning, the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said.

Temperatures will reach a maximum of 36°C along the coast and 43°C in internal areas.
