UAE weather: mercury rises to 49°C



Hot weather is set to continue on Monday with temperatures reaching up to 49°C.

The weather will continue be partly cloudy and hazy at times with cloud cover set to increase over the eastern and southern areas, the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology said.

Temperatures across the country will continue to be "hot to very hot", with highs reaching 45°C to 49°C in the internal areas, 42°C to 45°C along the coast and 35°C to 39°C in the mountains.

With southeasterly to northeasterly winds blowing between 12 – 25/h blowing dust and sand over exposed areas. Sea conditions are expected to be slight to moderate at times over the Arabian Gulf and Oman sea.

Relative humidity will reach highs of 65 – 85 per cent along coastal areas and 60 – 80 per cent in the internal areas, rising during the night and morning over some coastal areas.
