High temperatures will persist across the country over the weekend.
Some areas in the interior and along the coast might experience poor visibility due to fog and mist but it will remain hot over the next few days.
Temperatures in the interior will hit 48°C with coastal areas recording a high of 45°C, the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said. It will not be much cooler in the mountains either, with highs of 36°C forecast.
The lowest temperature recorded on Thursday morning was 26.1°C in Jabal Jais.
Humidity will increase, especially after sunset, resulting in fog in areas along the western coast, where it might reach 95 per cent, compared with 85 per cent in the interior.
Light to moderate winds may cause some blowing dust and sand in the afternoon. Winds blowing at 25-28 kph may offer some welcome respite.
The sea will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Oman sea.
