The UAE is to open a mobile hospital in the Abdul Aziz district of Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, in response to requests by citizens for more health services.

The project was announced by Mohammed Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to Somalia, the state news agency Wam reported.

The hospital will receive about 300 patients daily, all of whom will receive free medical treatment.

In April, the UAE flew over a Somalian woman injured in a bombing in Mogadishu, in March, for treatment. Seventeen people died in the attack.
