UAE president Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the release of 1097 prisoners on the occasion of the country's 41st National Day.
The release comes as part of the President's desire to give inmates a chance to resume new life and ease suffering of their families.
Sheikh Khalifa is accustomed to pardoning prisoners and waiving their financial liabilities on religious and national occasions.
