President Sheikh Khalifa  sent a cable of condolences to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt after 25 people died in an explosion at a train station in Cairo on Wednesday.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the leaders of the rest of the emirates dispatched similar cables.

On Wednesday morning, a train engine car loaded with fuel slammed into a platform at the Egyptian capital's main train station, Ramses, causing an explosion and fire.

Almost 50 people were injured, prompting the resignation of Transport Minister Hisham Arafat hours after the accident.
