Dedicate yourself to doing good deeds and Allah will reward you, worshippers will be told on Friday.
Allah has ordered Muslims to be steadfast in observing obligatory prayers.
The imam will say that Allah knows everything that happens because he is all-knowing.
“Indeed, from Allah nothing is hidden in the earth nor in the heaven,” the Quran says.
Worshippers will also be told that the month of Shaban, the month before Ramadan, is a time when believers often wrongly neglect their prayers.
Instead, it should be a time when those who have fallen short of good deeds throughout the year should be making amends and repenting for previous sins.
“But indeed, I am the Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues in guidance,” the Quran says.
One of the ways to repent, Allah said, was to wipe away evil by doing good deeds.
The Quran states: “Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.”
The Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) would fast during Shaban because he said it was a month people normally neglected and therefor those who worshipped during that time would be rewarded by Allah.
