UAE declares holiday for Islamic New Year

UAE ministries and public institutions will be closed on Thursday to mark the Islamic new year.

ABU DHABI // The UAE government has announced that Thursday, November 15, will be a public holiday to mark the Islamic new year.

UAE ministries and public institutions will resume work on Sunday, November 18, a according to a circular issued by Humaid Al Qattami, the chairman of the Federal Authority for Human Resources who is also the Minister of Education.
