Woman dies after scooter crashes into car in RAK

Police say Asian woman did not ensure her path was clear before turning into a road already occupied by an Arab motorist.

RAS AL KHAIMAH // An Asian woman was killed when her scooter was hit by a car early on Sunday afternoon in Ras Al Khaimah.

The woman, 47, entered a road without ensuring it was clear and was hit by an Arab motorist, 34, said Col Ahmad Al Naqbi, deputy director of RAK traffic police. The incident happened across from Al Hamra Mall.

The woman’s body was taken to hospital before being given to her family for a funeral.

Col Al Naqbi urged motorists to adhere to traffic rules and ensure roads are free of vehicles before entering.
