DUBAI // Heavy congestion plagued many areas of the emirate on Thursday as rain did little to improve traffic flow.
Motorists experienced heavy traffic on Ras Al Khor Road towards Dubai due to an accident near the Dubai Mall exit, according to @TrafficDXB.
Heavy traffic was also reported on Sheikh Zayed Road, northbound, near Times Square Centre up to Al Wasl.
Commuters traveling southbound on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Al Ittihad Road were met with bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Dubai Police also reported two accidents on Al Khail Road in both directions near Nad Al Sheba bridge.
Traffic build-up was also reported from Wafi Mall towards Dubai World trade centre.
In Abu Dhabi, an accident occurred on Rashid bin Saeed Street, causing tailbacks, but was cleared in 30 minutes.
