UAE traffic: Congestion in Sharjah and Dubai
Slight slowdowns, but an easier drive on Thursday morning as many prepare for the holiday weekend
Traffic is only moderately on E311 leading from Sharjah Industrial area to Al Rashidiya in Dubai as many commuters prepare for the holiday weekend.
However, congestion on 16th street which intersects with E311 is heavier.
Cars on Sharjah’s Al Ittihad Street crawled at 15 kilometres an hour (kmh) to Al Nahda Street, slowing down further to 11 kmh toward Al Khabaisi. Commuters moving through Sharjah’s Al Taawun Street and roundabout also struggled at a speed of 12 kmh.
Motorists are having better luck on Al Garhoud Street where there is only light traffic, and they are reaching speeds of 56 kmh. Traffic thickens on D89 Al Maktoum Street leading towards Pullman Dubai Deira City Centre, then it get heavier around Metro – Red Line station.
In Abu Dhabi, drivers face congestion on E22 Abu Dhabi - Al Ain road from Al Maqtaa bridge to Al Bahri street, with speeds averaging 26 kmh.
