Motorists experienced a busy start to the week with congested roads in different parts of the country. Drivers were met with heavy delays on Al Ittihad Road heading towards Dubai, while there was also congestion on Mohammed bin Zayed Road from Sharjah Ring Road towards Muhaisnah. The Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road also experienced bumper-to-bumper traffic Abu Dhabi-bound from the Al Turrfa area in Sharjah to the Al Warqa’a area in Dubai. A major accident was reported on the highway. Similar conditions were reported on Sheikh Rashid Road, Dubai-bound, and heavy traffic was reported on Ras Al Khor Road heading towards Dubai. Commuters heading to Dubai on the Dubai-Al Ain Road after Zayed University also experienced delays. In the capital, congestion held up commuters on Al Corniche Street and on the Abu Dhabi to Al Ain Road as two accidents were reported. Another accident was reported on on Mahawi Br. E22 Abudhabi-Al Ain road that caused heavy delays. A further accident was reported on Corniche St / Khaleej Al Arabi towards Mina.
