ABU DHABI // An accident on Khaleej Al Arabi, near the Armed Officers Club, caused major delays for motorists leaving the emirate on Thursday morning.
Another incident outbound on Sheikh Zayed Street, before the mangroves underpass, caused delays in the area for up to an hour while police cleared debris.
Delays were exacerbated by the closing of five lanes in Sheikh Zayed Tunnel for roadworks. The lanes will remain closed for almost a year.
Police recommended motorists use alternative routes to avoid congestion.
