ABU DHABI // Motorists in Abu Dhabi and Dubai experienced long delays following four traffic accidents during the morning rush hour on Thursday.

Abu Dhabi Police took to Twitter at 7.53am to alert drivers of traffic congestion and delays on Sheikh Suroor Bridge on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Earlier the Department of Transport (DoT) had warned motorists about an accident on Khaleej Al Arabi Road after Al Dhafra Street.

Delays remained throughout the morning.

Both incidents primarily affected traffic heading towards Abu Dhabi, according to the Abu Dhabi Police and the DoT’s traffic management.

In Dubai, a major accident was reported at 7.58am on the E611 – Emirates Road – before the Maliha Road junction.

Drivers were urged to drive with caution following a minor accident reported about an hour earlier on Sheikh Zayed Road before the Al Barsha Salik gate, towards the World Trade Centre and Dubai Mall.
