Toyota recall 18 faulty Rav4 vehicles in UAE
DUBAI // Eighteen Toyota Rav4 vehicles in the UAE are being recalled to repair or replace a faulty frontal air bag on the driver’s side.
On Sunday, Al-Futtaim Motors announced a “special service campaign” on 2003 RAV4 vehicles.
The affected vehicles are equipped with driver frontal airbag assemblies with single stage inflators that may have been exposed to increased humidity levels during manufacturing, it said.
This might increase the inner pressure of the inflator and cause its body to rupture and the front driver airbag to deploy abnormally in the event of a collision.
The front driver air bag will be inspected, and the inflator will be replaced with a new one when needed.
The repair will take about 30 minutes.
The customer service team has started contacting the affected customers to book a service appointment.
