If you're going to call your nautical creation "Majesty" you have to make sure that it is majestic in every sense.

And that was certainly the impression of enthusiasts at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in the United States this week.

The Majesty 140, built in the UAE by Gulf Craft and making its US debut, carried off the Best in Show award on the last day of the five-day event, expected to attract about 110,000 visitors.

The tri-deck boat was designed with all of the mod-cons and opulence you would expect for a creation which sold for around $20 million (Dh73.4m), according to the show organisers.

While it was dwarfed in size by some of the other vessels on display, it made up for it in terms of luxury with bedrooms that resemble a five-star hotel, a flybridge that could host an A-list celebrity party and a Jacuzzi for those who just want to chill and watch the waves go by.

Glass features heavily, allowing natural light to stream in the side windows and offering panoramic views.

To top off the entertainment possibilities, it even has its own on-board beach club and cigar lounge.

Powered by 16v 2,600hp engines, the yacht is capable of a top speed of 20 knots (37 kilometres an hour) and has an extended range of 4,750 nautical miles at 10 knots.

Gulf Craft, a privately owned company formed in 1982, is headquartered in Ajman and has four boatyards spread across the UAE. It had sold five Majesty 140 yachts prior to the show in Fort Lauderdale and since its introduction at the Dubai International Boat Show last year.
