FUJAIRAH // A lorry overloaded with sand overturned in Fujairah on Sunday.
Traffic authorities in the emirate had to close Yabsa ring-road for about nine hours after the lorry, which was travelling towards Fujairah port, tipped over at 5am.
Police patrols and an ambulance attended the scene though no casualties were reported and the road was reopened at 2pm.
Police said the driver lost control due to the heavy load. Officers urged lorry drivers to abide by weight restrictions and avoid overloading their vehicles.
