New timings for Dubai Metro on Prophet's birthday

RTA confirms timings for the emirate's trains, buses and water taxis on the Prophet's birthday - a public holiday in the UAE.

DUBAI // The Metro will run on its usual weekday schedule for tomorrow's public holiday to mark the Prophet Mohammed's birth anniversary.

Trains will run from 5.30am until 1am on Friday, the Roads and Transport Authority said yesterday.

Feeder bus services for the Metro stations, such as those departing from Burj Khalifa station, will operate from 6am until 1am the following morning.

Buses will run from Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates and Ibn Battuta stations from 6am until midnight, and Abu Hail and Etisalat stations from 6am until 10pm.

All other public bus stations will be open from 6am to midnight, except for Jebel Ali bus station, which will close at 10pm.

Main stops for the intercity buses, such as Al Ghubaiba, will operate 24 hours, while subsidiary stations such as Union Square and Sabkha will be open from 6am to midnight.

Buses at Deira City Centre and Karama stations will run from 6am to 10pm.

External bus stations, such as Jubail-Bur Dubai, will be operating around the clock but the Sharjah-Deira route and Abu Dhabi service will run from 6am to midnight, and the Ajman and Hatta stations from 6am to 10pm.

Tomorrow and Friday, the water bus and water taxis will operate from 10am to midnight, and Dubai Ferry will offer services from 9am to 7pm.

All customer service centres and centres offering vehicles testing and registration services will be closed from tomorrow until Sunday morning.

Driving institutes will also be closed, with the exception being centres such as Al Ahli, Galadari and Dubai, which will be operating tomorrow.
