Eight new radars will go live on Al Ittihad Ring Road in Al Ain City today.
The move is part of a traffic safety plan to install 57 new radars along the internal roads and motorways of Al Ain.
The radar detection speed has been set at 141 kph. Traffic Police say they hope the cameras will curb the crashes that lead to deaths and serious injuries.
Col Khalifa Mohammed Al Khaili, director of the traffic and roads safety section, said the new radars would be installed where accidents and violations most frequently occurred.
