SHARJAH // An adult and two toddlers were injured on Thursday after falling out of a moving vehicle.

The female driver sped into a roundabout on Sheikh Sultan Road, in Kalba, causing a nanny and a pair of three-year-olds to fall out of a van whose door had not been properly shut, police said.

All three were taken to Kalba Hospital by ambulance and the nanny, who has severe head injuries, remains in critical condition in the ICU.

The children, whose parents were notified immediately by police, received minor fractures and scratches.

Investigations continue and police urged the nursery, which has not been identified, to ensure children’s safety by carrying out regular inspections on nursery vehicles and making sure doors can be properly locked.
