More parking spaces for women coming to Abu Dhabi

Mawaqif inspectors make sure that any male drivers parking in the pink spots will be fined and have their cars towed.

ABU DHABI // More parking spaces for female drivers are to be introduced in the capital soon.

Mohammed Hamad Al Muhairi, director general of Mawaqif at the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport, said the parking spots, which are marked with pink, would “guarantee greater security and privacy” for women.

The Department of Transport has allocated 182 parking spaces in multistorey and underground car parks in areas near the Liwa Centre, the Corniche, Zakher Hotel, the Ministry of Health, in Liwa street and Al Noor Hospital.

Mawaqif inspectors make sure that any male drivers parking in the pink spots will be fined and have their cars towed.
