RAS AL KHAIMAH // A lorry carrying liquid gas toppled over, landing on its side at a roundabout in Ras Al Khaimah.

RAK Police operations room received a report of the accident at Al Qusaidat roundabout at 5am on Thursday.

Brig Ghanem Ahmed Ghanem, general director of central operations at RAK Police, headed to the scene accompanied by Colonel Ali Saeed Al Alkeem, director of the Traffic and Patrols Department, and a number of officers, police patrols, Saaed patrols, ambulances and Civil Defence teams.

A one-kilometre cordon was placed around the scene and traffic was diverted as the company that owns the vehicle was called to bring other tanks to empty the liquid gas.

The driver, RKK, 33, lost control of the steering wheel but he did not sustain any serious injuries and the lorry was successfully removed from the road, Brig Ghanem added.
