DUBAI // Car enthusiasts will be able to bid for three, four and five-digit vehicle plates in a Roads and Transport Authority’s 42nd online auction.
A week-long registration for the auction will start on August 7 with bidding beginning on August 14 and running for six days.
On offer will be distinctive plates with codes from G through S, the RTA said.
The auction is anticipated to attract the participation of a number license plate enthusiasts as it offers them the opportunity of selecting their fancied numbers in a hassle-free environment, said Sultan Al Marzooki, director of vehicle licensing at RTA’s Licensing Agency.
The potential bidder must deposit Dh5,000 as security that will be refunded after the auction.
Those interested can participate in the auction through the RTA's website or by visiting any customer service centre in Dubai.
