ABU DHABI // A fleet of 1,000 taxis will be available around the clock during the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this month, Abu Dhabi’s taxi regulator said on Monday.
The special service will be provided at the race and at all entertainment activities on Yas Island from November 27 to 29.
Taxis will be readily available at Yas Mall, Ferrari World, and all Yas Island hotels.
Mohammed Al Qamzi, general manager of the Centre for Regulation of Transport by Hire Cars, said they were always keen on supporting such major sporting events in Abu Dhabi.
Last year, more than 30,000 people used taxis stationed on Yas Island for the Grand Prix weekend events.
