A 19-year-old Emirati motorcyclist died after colliding with a large lorry on Al Rams road in Ras Al Khaimah.
The 50-year-old lorry driver failed to ensure the way was clear as he entered the road from a roundabout and hit the motorbike, said Colonel Salem Rubaai, chief of the Al Rams Police Station.
Col Rubaai said police patrols and ambulances were sent to the scene.
The young man’s body was taken to hospital before being delivered to his family for burial.
The incident has been referred to authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
Col Rubaai stressed the need for all motorists to follow traffic laws and regulations for their safety and the safety of other road users.
