Emirates flight to Sydney diverted after passenger becomes sick onboard

DUBAI // An Emirates flight from Dubai to Sydney was diverted on Thursday after a passenger became sick onboard.

Flight EK 412 was diverted to Colombo, and upon arrival, the passenger was met by local medical staff, a spokeswoman for Emirates airline said.

“The flight then continued on its journey to Sydney with an approximate four-hour delay,” the spokeswoman said.

The flight had left Dubai’s terminal 3 at 11.05am and arrived in Colombo’s main terminal at 6.36pm after being diverted.

It had been scheduled to arrive in Sydney at 6.20pm, according to Emirates’ website flight status information.
