DUBAI // Eleven people were injured in a crash on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road on Monday morning. Lt Col Ahmed Burqibah, deputy director of Dubai Police Search and Rescue Department, who was at the scene, said that four people were seriously injured. “The incident took place near Global Village towards Abu Dhabi and it involved a small bus and a lorry,” he said. “Four people sustained serious injuries, while the others were moderate and minor cases. “We helped them get out of the bus, and they were all immediately treated at the scene and then transferred to hospital.” Dubai Police said via its Twitter account that there was heavy congestion due because of the incident and urged motorists to drive cautiously. dmoukhallati@thenational.ae
