DUBAI // Dubai International Airport welcomed more than 600,000 travellers over three days in its busiest weekend in history, its operator has said.
Dubai Airports said the airport managed the influx of travellers “without a glitch” following days of planning and preparation.
A total of 638,317 passengers came through the airport’s three terminals from December 18-20, Dubai Airports said.
December 20 had the most traffic overall, with 216,807 passengers. The airport has 160,000 travellers on a typical day.
Dubai Airports, Emirates airline, dnata, Dubai Police, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigner Affairs, and Dubai Customs were involved in the planning, said Paul Griffiths, chief executive of Dubai Airports.
