DUBAI // A bus route opens this week to serve residential areas and offices by Business Bay Metro Station.
Other routes will be upgraded to keep up with demand for connections between public buses and the Metro, the Roads and Transport Authority said on Sunday.
The new line, F14, starts on Wednesday at the Business Bay Metro Station on Sheikh Zayed Road. It will stop at residential areas and office towers such as the Mayfair, Clayton, Bay Square, Lillian, XL and U Bora Towers.
“This route has been designed to meet the needs of customers in the Business Bay district and will offer a service at 15 to 30-minute intervals during peak time,” said Adel Shakri, director of planning and business development at the authority’s Public Transport Agency.
Other routes will feature extra stops from Wednesday, such as line 29 at Business Bay, line F55 through Dubai Logistics City, and line C07 through Gold Souk Bus Station.
Changes in line F33 will take place at Al Barsha; line F46 at Green Community; and line F47 at Jebel Ali Industrial, to Dubai Investment Park 2.
Other routes scheduled to be upgraded are lines 96, X92 and F53 at Jebel Ali Industrial.
