Air India flight from Dubai to Mangalore diverted due to heavy rainfall

The plane landed safely at Cochin International Airport

An Air India flight from Dubai was diverted from Mangalore airport in southern India due to bad weather on Tuesday morning, airport officials said.

The aircraft landed at Cochin International Airport, ACK Nair, director of the airport, told news agency ANI.

The plane was carrying 118 passengers.

There was heavy rainfall in Mangalore city on Tuesday with thunderstorms also forecast.

Earlier this week, a helicopter carrying Yusuff Ali, managing director of the UAE-based Lulu Group, and five other passengers, made an emergency landing in India's Kerala state due to bad weather. No serious injuries were reported.
