DUBAI // Bidding will begin on Tuesday for four and five-digit vehicle number plates in the Roads and Transport Authority’s 38th online auction.

Registration for the auction for the distinctive plates with codes from J through to R began last Wednesday, the RTA said.

“The auction is anticipated to attract the participation of number plate enthusiasts, especially those interested in obtaining them online,” said Sultan Al Marzooki, director of vehicle licensing at RTA’s Licensing Agency.

The potential bidder must deposit Dh5,000 as security that will be refunded after the auction.

Those interested can participate in the auction through the RTA’s website or by visiting any customer service centre in Dubai.
