DUBAI // Three men broke into a villa in Jumeirah and stole jewellery, electronics and a 4x4 before driving to Ajman to buy alcohol, Dubai Criminal Court heard.
Pakistanis M R, 34, Z A, 24, and M S, 36, broke into the villa after watching it to make sure no one was home, prosecutors said.
In evidence, tenant A G, 53, from France, said he arrived home at 9.30pm and noticed his wife’s car was missing.
“I found the place trashed,” said the sales director, who called police after he saw the back door had been forced and valuables were missing.
Emirati police officer A S, 27, told prosecutors: “We arrested M R after we were tipped off about his involvement.”
During questioning, M R said his role was as a lookout.
Z A and M S told police he broke into the villa using a screwdriver and stole items before fleeing in the Toyota 4x4.
M S told police they drove to Ajman, bought alcohol and divided the stolen items.
The three, who were not at court to enter a plea, were charged with theft, breaking and entering and destruction of private property. M S is also charged with overstaying his visa and failing to pay fines.
The next hearing is set for April 26.
