DUBAI // Three men are accused of kidnapping two women and two men from their residence, assaulting them and raping the women, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
Prosecutors told the court that on April 20 this year, Emirati brothers A D, 34, B D, 27 and their friend A A, 19, who holds a Comoros Islands passport, walked into a flat in Bur Dubai area and claimed to be Dubai police officers.
They allegedly dragged the four who were in the flat to a car and claimed they were taking them to a police station because they were reported for absconding from their sponsors.
Records show that they assaulted the two men identified as K R, 26, and N M, 38, both from Sri Lanka, before they kicked them out of the car and drove away with the two women.
The women, Y D, 40 and P S, 26, Sri Lankan, testified that on the way the men stopped the car, removed its plate number then resumed driving.
The victims were taken to a villa in Al Qouz area where they were assaulted and raped, the court heard.
Y D said that when the rapist finished, he pulled off her necklace.
She said he stopped a taxi and asked the driver to take her home.
“When I arrived I saw a police car and knew that K R and N M had called police,” she said.
Police had the taxi driver guide them to the villa where the other victim, P S, was still being held.
P S said in her testimony that she was raped twice by one of the defendants and once by another.
The three men were arrested and referred to prosecution which is charging all three with kidnap and assault. The brothers are both charged with rape, while A A is charged with aiding and abetting.
All defendants denied the charges in court. A D and B D both claimed that the sex was consensual.
DNA traces matching that of the brothers was found in the villa. Forensics said that upon examination of the women, the findings were consistent with their rape story.
The next hearing will be on September 16.
