Three Emirati children and a woman, their nanny, died in a car accident in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

The two brothers, aged 11 and 15, and their sister, 13, were accompanied by their nanny as their mother, Umm Jasim, drove them to visit relatives on the first day of Eid.

Initial police investigations revealed that the mother did not have a driver's license and was speeding. Police said she swerved suddenly, lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into a lamp post in Al Falah area.

Police dispatched patrols and ambulances to the area and rushed the mother, who had severe injuries to hospital. They said the children and house maid died on impact.

The children will be buried after asr payers [3.45pm] on Wednesday at Bani Yas Mosque Cemetery, following funeral prayers.
