ABU DHABI // A snowstorm called Huda that has hit the Levant area will mean a drop in temperatures and high winds kicking up sands in the UAE.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said the storm reached Lebanon on Tuesday night and is expected to reach Jordan on Wednesday morning.

The centre said cold temperatures will be accompanied by strong winds of up to 70kph when the storm eventually hits the Arabian Gulf on Thursday.

Temperatures across the UAE will peak at 19C with low visibility, sand in the air and turbulent seas.

The centre warned against going out at sea on Thursday and called for vigilance and caution while driving in low visibility.
