DUBAI // A married security guard who says she was constantly sexually harassed by her boss told a court that she was suspended after refusing to be his mistress.
After months of alleged pestering by Indian boss AM, 48, the security guard, BA, said the suspension after a heated argument was the final straw, so she filed a police report against him.
She said: “The defendant harassed me constantly at work. He kept calling me and requested that I have an affair with him.
“I rejected him and filed a report to the administration of the company but they didn’t take action.
“In July last year he called me and requested to see me outside my home to give me my salary. Once inside the car, he proceeded to put his hand on my thighs and other parts of my body.
“He asked me why I reject him because he is good looking and only wants to be friend. He also said that he would stop harassing me if I said yes to his offer.”
Kenyan witness NN, 33, said: “The defendant drives us home after work using the company car. Once, I was sitting in the back seat and the victim, BA, was in the front seat next to AM.
“He touched her breasts and thighs and she immediately pushed his hand back and angrily shouted at AM that she is a respected, married woman and that she doesn’t want to have a relationship with him.
“AM got really angry and suspended her from work for a month. When BA confronted him about it, he said that he is her boss and he can do whatever he likes. She started crying and reported him to police.”
At Dubai Criminal Court, the defendant denied a charge of molestation.
The next hearing will be on June 16.
